Dr. Kristin Cleverley
Principal Investigator
Dr. Cleverley, RN, PhD, CPMHN(C) is the CAMH Chair in Mental Health Nursing Research and Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing and Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and Senior Scientist in the Margaret and Wallace McCain Centre for Child, Youth & Family Mental Health at CAMH. She is the Chair of the University of Toronto Inlight Student Mental Health Research Initiative and Co-Chaired the Ontario Health Quality Standard on Youth-to-Adult Health Care Transitions.

Julia Davies, RN, MN
Research Fellow
Julia is a PhD student at the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto, a Registered Nurse at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and a research trainee with the Longitudinal Youth in Transition Study. Her clinical background spans general surgery, multi-system trauma care, and acute mental health and addictions nursing, and she is developing expertise in youth mental health research and patient-oriented research through her work with LYiTS. The focus of her doctoral research includes psycho-social and functional outcomes of traumatic brain injury/concussion among youth who are accessing mental health and addictions care.
Soha Salman, MEd
Research Analyst
Soha is a research analyst at CAMH, where she supports the LYiTS and NavigateCAMPUS study. Previously, she worked as a Clinical Research Project Assistant at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), where she assisted in recruiting participants and collecting and managing data for the NEAT study. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master of Education in Developmental Psychology and Education from the University of Toronto. Soha is deeply committed to research on mental health transitions in care and is particularly interested in engaging youth in this important work.
Katherine Sainsbury, RN, MPA, CPMHN(C)
Research Coordinator
Katherine supports all the Cleverley Lab’s research activities as a Research Coordinator, primarily working on the Longitudinal Youth in Transition Study (LYiTS). Katherine is a Registered Nurse at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), and a PhD student at the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto. In addition to mental health and addictions care, her clinical experience includes pediatrics and perinatal nursing. She holds a Master of Public Administration from Queen’s University, and a BSc from McGill University. Katherine is passionate about the ways in which clinical practice, research, and policy can intersect to improve patient outcomes.
Emma McCann, HBSc (on leave)
Knowledge Translation & Engagement Specialist
Emma supports the Cleverley Lab knowledge translation and implementation activities at the Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing and is the acting Engagement Lead of Inlight. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a Honours Bachelor of Science. Emma’s background is in stakeholder engagement in research and systems of care. She is passionate about moving evidence and community knowledge into practice and developing capacity for collaboration across mental health settings.
Lexi Ewing, MA, PhD
Research Coordinator
Dr. Lexi Ewing is a Research Coordinator with the Margaret and Wallace McCain Centre for Child, Youth & Family Mental Health at CAMH. She works in collaboration with the Cleverley Lab to manage the NavigateCAMPUS project. Lexi completed her MA and PhD at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto, where her research focused on person-centered approaches to investigating post-secondary student mental health. She has particular expertise in the development and maintenance of self-injurious behaviors (e.g., nonsuicidal self-injury, suicidal behavior) in education and community based settings.
Anica Shum, RN, BScN, CPMHN(C), MN Clinical student
Work-study Student
Anica is a Registered Nurse at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and a Master of Nursing (Clinical Stream) student at the University of Toronto. Anica is passionate about understanding, caring for, and advocating for individuals living with mental illness. She is dedicated to reducing stigma around mental illness and mental health professionals, and aims to inspire students to pursue careers in mental health research and advocacy.
