Dr. Cleverley supervises graduate students at the University of Toronto Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing who focus on a wide range of topics surrounding mental health. She is currently recruiting PhD students with a particular interest in studying transitional aged youth and continuity of mental health care.

Trainees
Lin Li, RN, PhD, BFA
Dr. Lin Li is a Registered Nurse and Banting Postdoctoral Fellow co-supervised by Dr. Kristin Cleverley (primary supervisor) and Dr. Yona Lunsky. She completed a PhD in Nursing at McMaster University. Her post-doctoral work aims to understand outcomes and experiences of youth with neurodevelopmental disorders who are aging out of child and adolescent mental health services.
Julia Davies, RN, MN
Julia Davies is a Registered Nurse and PhD Candidate at the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto and Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). She has clinical and research expertise in mental health, traumatic brain injury, and health care transitions, with methodological expertise in patient-oriented research methods and program evaluation. The focus of Julia’s doctoral work is to understand 1) links between traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and symptom profiles of youth receiving mental health care, and 2) youths’ perspectives on their TBI-related experiences and needs when accessing mental health services. Julia’s goal is to increase the capacity of mental health services to better meet the needs of youth and young adults who are experiencing ongoing challenges related to TBI or concussion.
Katherine Sainsbury, RN, MPA, CPMHN(C)
Katherine is a Registered Nurse at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), a Research Coordinator with the Cleverley Lab, and a PhD student at the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto. Her research interests include health care transitions, student mental health, and risk assessment in acute care. Katherine’s doctoral research aims to better understand the needs of post-secondary students who are accessing mental health services.
Patty Wilson, NP
Patty Wilson is a Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing candidate at the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, University of Toronto. Based in Calgary, Alberta, she specializes in substance use, with a particular focus on prescribed safer supply. Her work revolves around implementing prescribed safer supply practices among prescribers. Patty aims to understand both internal and external barriers and facilitators influencing prescribers’ decision-making processes to enhance support for this life-saving intervention.
Sarah Kuburi, MA
Sarah Kuburi is a PhD student in Developmental Psychology and Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. Her doctoral research examines the mental health of post-secondary students, specifically focusing on stress and coping mechanisms, such as nonsuicidal self-injury. As a Research Trainee at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in the Cleverley Lab, Sarah leads a study evaluating the impact of clinician-facing dashboards on clinical decision-making and patient mental health care. She actively collaborates with youth to ensure their feedback is integrated throughout this study.
